  • Once the films are handed in, the preliminary judging process will begin. A group of local judges drawn from film and television industry professionals, technicians, film buffs, agents, film and media teachers, actors, young filmmakers etc. will review all films and select three finalist films for each category. Reel Deal assembles a widely skilled judging panel so that all films receive a fair and equitable viewing with a broad range of perspectives.
  • The finalists films will be distributed to the main judging panel, made up of industry personnel and celebrities, for final selection.
  • All finalists’ films, as selected by the preliminary judging panel, will be shown in full at a public screening on Sunday July 13 at Revesby Workers’ Club. The General Public will be invited to vote for their favouirte film at this screening for the Viewers Choice Award category.
  • The eventual winner of each category announced at the Awards night on Saturday August 2. The Reel Deal will not enter into any discussion regarding the industry judging panel.
  • The Reel Deal is also endeavouring to create additional screening opportunities for films via a regional touring program through Television Sydney and online at the Reel Deal and Commonwealth Bank websites.
